Cherry Blossom Tea
Inspired by Tea Forte's new tea flavor for spring 2018

The invitations were hand painted with watercolors on watercolor paper with deckled edges. Each one was unique and a little different from the rest. I used pale pink envelopes and included the Japanese characters that translate to:
In keeping with the cherry blossom theme, I chose the color scheme to be soft pink and gold
The welcome sign I made by hand along with the origami paper cranes that reflect the Japanese aspect of the theme
The centerpiece of the table was this precious mini cake that I baked, frosted and decorated myself.
For the walls, I made decorative posters separated by strings of shiny gold paper cranes.
I painted each poster using watercolors and again included the Japanese characters that spell out, "Spring", "Tea", "Cherry Blossom"
The other decor consisted of two loosely tied bundles of gold sticks (which you can see standing along the back wall) and white paper lanterns (in keeping with the Japanese aspect of the theme) that I glued pink blossoms to and hung from the chandelier. I also used bows of pink cherry blossoms on the chandelier to give the effect that the table was beneath a cherry tree.
For the tablescape, I used the mini cake to be the centerpiece, partnered with two 3-tiered towers on either side. There were individual cherry blossoms sprinkled on the table to add that little extra special touch.
The plates are my own set that I recently purchased from Pier1
I found beautiful large, gold paper doilies on Amazon.com which I used as placemats
I made simple place cards designed with a thin gold frame around the names
Pale pink napkins balance out each place setting and were topped with wooden folding fans and little paper cranes as party favors
Shiny gold plastic cutlery framed the place settings
Each antique teacup was unique and matched the color scheme of pink and gold
For the menu, there were strawberry cream cheese sandwiches, garnished with mint leaves and a drop of honey. There were also deviled eggs accompanied by carrots, celery and grapes. The mini cake was vanilla with vanilla icing.
